I am the daas of my devotees.- Sai Baba
Bhakti is the art of being such a perfect servant that God/Guru
becomes a slave of the devotee. Krishna served Sudama, as Vitthal he became
Vithu Mahar to pay the debt of Damaji, the storekeeper to a Muslim King, and
paid the hundi (bill of exchange) drawn by Narsi Mehta. The Lord is indeed
Bhakta Vatasal!
Ras Khan, the medieval Muslim devotee of Krishna, extols the
ways of the Krishna, whose glory is praised by all the Gods, Demi-Gods and
beings of the universe. “That Krishna, says, Ras Khan, “Dances to please the
Gopis of Vrindavan.” The Lord is tied by the ropes of love to his devotees. He
is the Lord of all there is and he is slave of the bhakta who calls upon him
with true love. How can the SadGuru, who is but God incarnated in flesh, be any
different? He is indeed the slave of all who fall at his feet.
May Sai, the kaivari of Shirdi, bless us all! Om Sai Ram!
