Shri Radhe Guru Maa - Gyanamrit - Soul is Immortal

Dehino-asmin yatha dehe
kaumaram yauvnam jara
tatha dehantar praptir
adhiras tatra na muhyati

Just as boyhood, youth and old age are attributed to the soul and the embodied soul continuously passes through these cycles, similarly the embodied soul passes into another body at death. The wise man does not get deluded and bewildered with such a change.

- Shrimad Bhagvad Gita

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa says her devotees have known her for many births. All beings recognize death as an inescapable reality that awaits at the end of their lives, and the fear of death is the deepest of all fears that plague the human mind.

However, Lord Krishna says in the verse quoted above that rebirth of a soul that has discarded one body is certain. Thus knowing the soul to be imperishable one should not fear death but should instead face all challenges in life with a calm mind. If the soul is immortal, it follows that the fear of death arises from believing one is a perishable body and not knowing that one is in reality the immortal imperishable soul.

Shri Radhe Guru Maa - Gyanamrit - Bhava is the best bhoga to God

Patram pushpam phalam toyam
yo me bhaktya prayacchati
Tad aham bhakty-upahritam
Ashnami prayatatmanah

Whatever I am offered in devotion with a pure heart
A leaf, a flower, fruit, or water
I accept with joy.

- Shrimad Bhagvad Gita

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa says that bhava is the best bhoga to God who is the owner of all there is. A father gets happy when his infant child offers food from his mouth. The food has been given to the child by the father himself and yet the offering of love is pleasing to him. Similarly, Sri Krishna, the Parampita of all beings, says in the Bhagvad Gita that he accepts a leaf, a flower, a fruit or even water if it offered with devotion. He is pleased with our small gifts though what we offer actually belongs to him alone. It is the bhava that makes the bhoga so special to God.

May we with the blessings of Guru Maa offer flowers of our bhava at the feet of the Lord of the Gopis. May he bless us with his infinite mercy.

Shri Radhe Maa hoists Gudi of seva on Padwa

Gudi Padwa is a rather special day in the Hindu Spiritual calendar. No wonder it is so dear to Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa who arranged goodies to be delivered to the St Francis Orphanage & 'Shanti Daan' in Borivali, Mumbai, with the Fortune Specialist Gourmet Company.

The children at the orphanage were all smiles at receiving the delightful treat on the big day.

Gudi Padwa is supposed to be the day when Lord Brahma, the creator in the Hindu trinity, made the cosmos. Gudi Padwa is celebrated across Maharashtra, including Mumbai where Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa’s Bhavan is situated.

It is also the day when King Shalivahana defeated the Huns and returned to victorious to his kingdom. His faithful subjects are said hoisted Gudis to mark the battle which freed them from the tyranny of the cruel Huns. Mamatamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa sent her blessing to all her devotees on this auspicious day.

Gudi Padwa is also the day when Lord Ram was coronated on his triumphant from Ayodhya in Treta Yuga. Shri Radhe Maa considers Lord Ram to be the ideal for all men – his life is a lesson on the art of living for all Hindus.

May all devotees have the courage of conviction to be like Lord Ram, the Maryaada Purshottam.

Shri Radhe Maa - Happy Gudhi Padwa

Happy Gudhi Padwa friends!

Did you know this about this great festival?

  • The Gudhi symbolizes the victory of Maratha forces under Chhatrapati Shivaji and the triumph of King Shalivahana to Paithan after he won a battle with the Sakas.
  • The Garud Puran tells us that Lord Brahma created the universe on Gudhi Padwa.
  • The Gudhi also symbolizes Shri Ramachandra’s return to Ayodhya after killing the demon Ravan. It marks the day Lord Ram was crowned king of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
May this Gudi Padwa bring you and your loved ones health, happiness and good fortune.
