He
is one of the few Westerners ever recognized in India as a
"Vedacharya" or teacher of the ancient Vedic wisdom. He is believed to be a bridge between the
East and the West, the ancient and the modern.
Vamadeva
Shastri works relentlessly to explain to the world about the values and
concepts which Hinduism propounded which has a validity not just for Hindu
Society but are meant for the entire universe. The passion for spreading the
vedic knowledge is such that up-till now Shastriji has written more then 30
books on subjects such as yoga, tantra, jyotish, ayuerveda and vedanta. He
started "American Institute of Vedic Studies" in USA to spread the right
vedantic knowledge to the western society, Vedic Research Centre, Bangalore and
has been associated with many ayuervedic Hindu organization for spreading the
message of Vedas.
On
deity worshiping he once mentioned, "...it honors the Earth as the Divine
Mother and encourages us to honor her and help her develop her creative
potentials. The deities of Hinduism permeate the world of nature…they don't
