The Chinese Lantern
Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese
calendar, and is also called the Yuanxiao Festival or Shangyuan
Festival. On the day, Children wear new clothes, get to eat delicacies
and take lanterns to the temples. The lanterns have riddles that the
children are expected to solve.
The Lantern Festival marks the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
This 'Chinese Diwali' was celebrated on February 24 this year, and will be held next year on Valentine's Day.
