The
deity of the Mata Chandika shrine is believed to possess extraordinary
powers of granting wishes of her devotees. As Goddess Chandika is a fierce form of the devi people seek her blessings to destroy negativity
in the lives and in their fortunes.
The pahadis have deep faith in Mother Chandika of Bageshwar and the
temple also attracts devotees from other parts of the country during
Navratris when a big fair is held every year.
