Shri Radhe Maa- When Lord Rama Visited Mumbai

Lord Rama reached the group of islands that are presently known to all as Mumbai as he pursued Ravana after he abducted Mata Sita. Here, as he waited for Lakshmana to arrange a Shiva Lingam so he could worship the Lord, Lord Rama upset with the delay created a created a Shiva Linga with Valuka or sand. The spot where Rama's Lord or Ishawar was worshiped in the form of a Linga designed from Valuka became famous as Valukeshwar and is today known to all as the upmarket Walkeshwar neighbourhood in Mumbai.

May Lord Shiva as Lord Walkeshwar bless us with abundance, compassion and devotion. Har Har Mahadev! Jai Mata Di!
