Did you know? - Jai Bajrangbali Pakistanwaale

Hindus in Pakistan have reason to cheer. The 1,500-year-old Shri Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir in Karachi is all set for renovation. The temple which is in at the heart of the city of Karachi that was once a predominantly Hindu city hosts a special swayambhu idol of Lord Hanuman.

The idol is eight-foot tall and blue and white in color. The five faces in the idol manifest the faces of Lord Hanuman, Lord Narasimha, Lord Adivaraha, Lord Hayagriva, and Lord Garuda in one idol.

Swayambhu idols are significant because they are not man-made but tend to manifest on their own in order to bless devotees and are therefore considered to be especially powerful. Swayambhu idols do not require praan-pratishtaan like manmade idols.

The land belonging to the temple has been grabbed by encroachers and the local Hindus are trying hard to vacate the plot under the leadership of the Shri Ramnath Maharaj, the caretaker of the temple.

May Lord Panchmukhi Hanuman of Karachi bless us all! .
