कृष्ण जन्म की पौराणिक कथा । Story of Lord Krishna's birth |

देवकी के सातवें गर्भ में अनन्त भगवान शेष पधारे। भगवान के आदेश से योगमाया ने इस गर्भ को आकर्षित करके वसुदेव की दूसरी पत्नी रोहिणी के गर्भ में पहुँचा दिया। यह प्रचार हो गया कि देवकी का गर्भ स्त्रवित हो गया।

जब देवकी के आठवें गर्भ का समय आया तो उनका शरीर ओज से पूर्ण हो गया। कंस को विश्वास हो गया कि इस बार अवश्य ही मुझे मारने वाला विष्णु आया है। इसीलिए कारागार के आसपास पहरेदारों की संख्या बढ़ा दी गयी। भाद्रपद की अँधेरी रात की अष्टमी तिथि थी। शंख, चक्र, गदा, पद्म, वनमाला धारण किए भगवान देवकी-वसुदेव के समक्ष प्रकट हुए। भगवान का दर्शन करके माता देवकी धन्य हो गयीं। पुन: भगवान नन्हें शिशु के रूप में देवकी की गोद में आ गये। पहरेदार सो गए। वसुदेव-देवकी की हथकड़ी-बेड़ी अपने-आप खुल गयीं। भगवान के आदेश से वसुदेव उन्हें गोकुल में यशोदा की गोद में डाल आए और वहाँ से उनकी तत्काल पैदा हुई कन्या ले आए। कन्या को देवकी की शैया पर सुलाते ही हथकड़ी-बेड़ी अपने आप लग गये, कपाट बन्द हो गये और पहरेदारों को चेत आ गया।

कारागार में कन्या के रोने की आवाज़ सुनकर पहरेदारों ने कंस को देवकी के गर्भ से कन्या होने का समाचार दिया। कंस उसी क्षण अति व्याकुल होकर हाथ में नंगी तलवार लेकर बन्दीगृह की ओर दौड़ा। बन्दीगृह पहुँचते ही उसने तत्काल उस कन्या को देवकी के हाथ से छीन लिया। देवकी अति कातर होकर कंस के सामने गिड़गिड़ाने लगी- "हे भाई! तुमने मेरे छः बालकों का वध कर दिया है। इस बार तो कन्या का जन्म हुआ है। तुम्हारे काल की आकाशवाणी तो पुत्र के द्वारा होने की हुई थी। इस कन्या को मत मारो।"

देवकी के रोने गिड़गिड़ाने पर भी दुष्ट कंस का हृदय नहीं पिघला और उसने कन्या को भूमि पर पटक डालने के लिये ज्यों ही ऊपर उछाला कि कन्या उसके हाथ से छूट कर आकाश में उड़ गई। वह आकाश में स्थित होकर अष्टभुजा धारण करके आयुधों से युक्त हो गई और बोली- "रे दुष्ट कंस! तुझे मारने वाला तेरा काल कहीं और उत्पन्न हो चुका है। तू व्यर्थ निर्दोष बालकों की हत्या न कर।" इतना कह कर योगमाया अन्तर्ध्यान हो गईं।

भगवन श्री कृष्णा (Shri Krishna) के जन्म की कथा ।

श्री कृष्ण जी का जन्म  भाद्रपद कृष्ण अष्टमी तिथि की घनघोर अंधेरी आधी रात में हुआ था .रोहिणी नक्षत्र में मथुरा के कारागार में वसुदेव जी  की पत्नी देवकी के गर्भ से भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने जन्म लिया था। यह तिथि उसी शुभ घड़ी की याद दिलाती है और सारे देश में बड़ी धूमधाम से जन्माष्टमी(janmashtami) के रूप में मनाई जाती है।

क्यों भगवान श्रीकृष्ण जी का जन्म की कथा अद्भुत है ?

‘द्वापर युग में भोजवंशी राजा उग्रसेन मथुरा में राज्य करता था। उसके आततायी पुत्र कंस ने उसे गद्दी से उतार दिया और स्वयं मथुरा का राजा बन बैठा। कंस की एक बहन देवकी थी, जिसका विवाह वसुदेव नामक यदुवंशी सरदार से हुआ था।

एक समय कंस अपनी बहन देवकी को उसकी ससुराल पहुंचाने जा रहा था। रास्ते में आकाशवाणी हुई- ‘हे कंस, जिस देवकी को तू बड़े प्रेम से ले जा रहा है, उसी में तेरा काल बसता है। इसी के गर्भ से उत्पन्न आठवां बालक तेरा वध करेगा।’ यह सुनकर कंस वसुदेव को मारने के लिए उद्यत हुआ।

तब देवकी ने उससे विनयपूर्वक कहा- ‘मेरे गर्भ से जो संतान होगी, उसे मैं तुम्हारे सामने ला दूंगी। बहनोई को मारने से क्या लाभ है?’ कंस ने देवकी की बात मान ली और मथुरा वापस चला आया। उसने वसुदेव और देवकी को कारागृह में डाल दिया।

वसुदेव-देवकी के एक-एक करके सात बच्चे हुए और सातों को जन्म लेते ही कंस ने मार डाला। अब आठवां बच्चा होने वाला था। कारागार में उन पर कड़े पहरे बैठा दिए गए। उसी समय नंद की पत्नी यशोदा को भी बच्चा होने वाला था।

उन्होंने वसुदेव-देवकी के दुखी जीवन को देख आठवें बच्चे की रक्षा का उपाय रचा। जिस समय वसुदेव-देवकी को पुत्र पैदा हुआ, उसी समय संयोग से यशोदा के गर्भ से एक कन्या का जन्म हुआ, जो और कुछ नहीं सिर्फ ‘माया’ थी।

जिस कोठरी में देवकी-वसुदेव कैद थे, उसमें अचानक प्रकाश हुआ और उनके सामने शंख, चक्र, गदा, पद्म धारण किए चतुर्भुज भगवान प्रकट हुए। दोनों भगवान के चरणों में गिर पड़े। तब भगवान ने उनसे कहा- ‘अब मैं पुनः नवजात शिशु का रूप धारण कर लेता हूं।

तुम मुझे इसी समय अपने मित्र नंदजी के घर वृंदावन में भेज आओ और उनके यहां जो कन्या जन्मी है, उसे लाकर कंस के हवाले कर दो। इस समय वातावरण अनुकूल नहीं है। फिर भी तुम चिंता न करो। जागते हुए पहरेदार सो जाएंगे, कारागृह के फाटक अपने आप खुल जाएंगे और उफनती अथाह यमुना तुमको पार जाने का मार्ग दे देगी।’

उसी समय वसुदेव नवजात शिशु-रूप श्रीकृष्ण को सूप में रखकर कारागृह से निकल पड़े और अथाह यमुना को पार कर नंदजी के घर पहुंचे। वहां उन्होंने नवजात शिशु को यशोदा के साथ सुला दिया और कन्या को लेकर मथुरा आ गए। कारागृह के फाटक पूर्ववत बंद हो गए।

अब कंस को सूचना मिली कि वसुदेव-देवकी के  बच्चे का जन्म हुआ है। उसने बंदीगृह में जाकर देवकी के हाथ से नवजात कन्या को छीनकर पृथ्वी पर पटक देना चाहा, परंतु वह कन्या आकाश में उड़ गई और वहां से कहा- ‘अरे मूर्ख, मुझे मारने से क्या होगा? तुझे मारनेवाला तो वृंदावन में जा पहुंचा है। वह जल्द ही तुझे तेरे पापों का दंड देगा।

क्यों मनाते है जन्माष्टमी(janmashtami) ?

इस दिन श्री कृष्ण जी का जन्म हुआ था जो की बहुत ही अद्भुत था। इनका जन्म काली अँधेरी रात में हुआ लेकिन सभी भक्तो के जीवन में प्रकाश ही प्रकाश फ़ैल गया।

कृष्ण भगवान की कहानी |

जन्माष्टमी के दिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण के जन्मोत्सव को मनाया जाता है। अष्टमी तिथि का महत्व इसलिये है क्योंकि वह वास्तविकता के प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष स्वरूपों में सुन्दर संतुलन को दर्शाता है, प्रत्यक्ष भौतिक संसार और अप्रत्यक्ष आध्यात्मिक दायरे।

भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का अष्टमी तिथि के दिन जन्म होना यह दर्शाता है कि वे आध्यात्मिक और सांसारिक दुनिया में पूर्ण रूप से परिपूर्ण थे। वे एक महान शिक्षक और आध्यात्मिक प्रेरणा के अलावा उत्कृष्ट राजनीतिज्ञ भी थे। एक तरफ वे योगेश्वर हैं (वह अवस्था जिसे प्रत्येक योगी हासिल करना चाहता है) और दूसरी ओर वे नटखट चोर भी हैं।

भगवान श्री कृष्ण का सबसे अद्भुत गुण यह है कि वे सभी संतों में सबसे श्रेष्ठ ओर पवित्र होने के बावजूद वे अत्यंत नटखट भी हैं। उनका स्वभाव दो छोरों का सबसे सुन्दर संतुलन है और शायद इसलिये भगवान श्री कृष्ण के व्यक्तित्व को समझ पाना बहुत ही कठिन है। अवधूत बाहरी दुनिया से अनजान है और सांसारिक पुरुष, राजनीतिज्ञ और एक राजा आध्यात्मिक दुनिया से अनजान है। लेकिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण दोनों द्वारकाधीश और योगेश्वर हैं।

भगवान श्री कृष्ण की शिक्षा और ज्ञान हाल के समय के लिये सुसंगत हैं क्योंकि वे व्यक्ति को सांसारिक कायाकल्पो में फँसने नहीं देती और संसार से दूर होने भी नहीं देती। वे एक थके हुए और तनावग्रस्त व्यक्तित्व को पुनः प्रज्वलित करते हुये और अधिक केंद्रित और गतिशील बना देती है। भगवान श्री कृष्ण हमें भक्ति की शिक्षा कुशलता के साथ देते हैं। गोकुलाष्टमी का उत्सव मनाने का अर्थ है कि विरोधाभासी गुणों को लेकिन फिर भी सुसंगत गुणों को अपने जीवन में उतार के या धारण कर के प्रदर्शित करना।

जन्माष्टमी का उत्सव मनाने का सबसे प्रामाणिक तरीका यह है कि आप को यह जान लेना होगा कि आपको दो भूमिकाएं निभानी हैं। यह कि आप इस ग्रह के एक जिम्मेदार व्यक्ति हैं और उसी समय आपको यह एहसास करना होगा कि आप सभी घटनाओं से परे हैं और एक अछूते ब्रह्म हैं। जन्माष्टमी का उत्सव मनाने का वास्तविक महत्व अपने जीवन में अवधूत के कुछ अंश को धारण करना और जीवन को अधिक गतिशील बनाना होता है।

श्री राधा कृष्ण प्रेम इतना सच्चा क्यों था?

यह सब जानते है , भगवान कृष्ण ने राधा जी को पृथ्वी पर जन्म लेने का आग्रह किया। यह भादो (सितंबर के महीने में ), शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी, अनुराधा नक्षत्र का समय था और समय 12 बजे जब राधा रानी इस दुनिया में प्रकट हुई।

श्री राधा जी का जन्मस्थान रावल है, मथुरा शहर से लगभग 10 किलोमीटर दूर एक छोटा गांव है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि एक दिन बृषभानु जी एक नदी में स्नान कर रहे था, तभी उन्होंने एक कमल देखा जो कि हजारों पंखुड़ियों वाला था और वह सूर्य के प्रकाश में सुनहरा कमल जैसा दिखता था और जब वह करीब आ गया, तो उन्होंने उस फूल के अंदर एक छोटी बच्ची को देखा और उस बच्ची को उन्होंने भगवान का आशीर्वाद समझ कर ले लिया और उसे अपनी बेटी के रूप में घर ले आये ।

श्री राधा जी ने अपनी आँखें नहीं खोलीं, जब तक कि वह भगवान कृष्ण के सुंदर चेहरे को नहीं देखा। वृषभनु और उनकी पत्नी बहुत परेशान थे और इस धारणा के तहत कि लड़की अंधी थी।

ग्यारह महीनों के बाद, जब अपने परिवार के साथ वृषभनू नंदबाबा को देखने के लिए गोकुल गए तो श्री राधा जी ने अपनी आंखें पहली बार खोली वो भी जब नंदबाबा बाल गोपाल श्री कृष्ण को उनके सामने लाये। अपने स्वामी आकर्षक चेहरे को देखने के लिए राधा रानी ने अपनी अपनी आंखें खोल दीं। वह पहली बार अपनी आँखें खोलने पर श्री कृष्ण जी का चेहरा देखना चाहती थी और यही कारण था कि उन्होंने अब तक अपनी आंखें नहीं खोली थी।

बरसाने से कुछ किलोमीटर दूर गह्वर वन है यही वो जगह है जहा राधा कृष्णा पहली बार अकेले मिले। जहा उन्होंने कुछ समय साथ में व्यतीत किया। जहा श्री कृष्ण ने राधा रानी के बालों को फूलो से सजाया था।

उनका प्रेम वृंदावन की जमीन पर उग आया जो माना जाता है कि श्री जी का दिल और ब्रह्माण्ड में सबसे अधिक धन्य भूमि है । उन्होंने यमुना के तट पर महा-रास लीला किया जो को युगो युगो तक नहीं भुलाया जा सकता ये अटूट भक्ति (प्रेम ) का संगम था। लेकिन तब वह समय भी आ गया जब शाप के कारन कृष्णाji को राधा जी से अलग होना पड़ा। उनसे दूर जाना पड़ा। लेकिन वो कहते है ना जिनकी रूह एक दूसरे की रूह में समायी होती है वो अलग कहा होते है। कंस को मारने के लिए श्री कृष्णा को मथुरा जाना पड़ा।

जाने से पहले, श्री कृष्णा जी ने ,श्री राधा जी से अपना वचन लिया को वो उनकी याद में कभी आँसू नहीं बहायेंगी।

श्री राधा जी ने  वादा किया कि वो नहीं रोयेंगी और आँसू नहीं बहाएंगे। श्री राधा जी ने  वादा किया कि वो नहीं रोयेंगी और आँसू नहीं बहाएंगे। कृष्ण ने उससे कहा कि उनका प्यार बिना शर्त का है और हमेशा रहेगा। मैं समय के अंत तक तुम्हारा ऋणी बना रहूँगा और वो हमेशा उनके साथ देखी जाएँगी। मेरे नाम से पहले हर कोई तुम्हारा नाम लेगा।  और हम आज देख सकते हैं कि वृंदावन में लोग या ब्रजवासी कहते है राधे राधे कहो चले आएंगे कृष्णा।

आज वृन्दावन में हर तरफ राधे राधे है। यहां तक कि रिक्शा वाला रास्ता मांगने के लिए रास्ते भी सिर्फ राधे राधे नाम का प्रयोग करते है। वृंदावन में हर घर या वृक्ष पे श्री राधा का नाम लिखा गया है। श्री राधा जी का भक्ति(प्रेम ) और दर्द ऐसा था कि कृष्ण ने उसे एक वरदान दिया कि उनका  नाम श्री कृष्णा जी से पहले लिया जाएगा।

Lord Jagannatha of Puri and his Muslim bhakta Salabega

Lord Jagannath 

Salabega was born in the first decade of the 17th century to a Mughal subedar and a Brahmin widow whom had father had forced to marry him. They lived in Orissa close to the famous Jagannatha temple. When Salabega became a young man he joined his father's army and began his career as a soldier. Once, after he hurt himself badly, he found that nothing would give him relief.

Salabega's mother advised him to chant Lord Krishna's name. He obeyed his mother and found the names of the Lord so sweet that he forgot everything and was healed of his pain. He was overcome by a desire to know more and visited the Jagannatha temple. The Brahmins would not let Salabega enter the temple because he was not a Hindu.

Dejected Salabega when to Vrindavan and lived immersed in the Lord for several years before returning to Orissa just before the grant Ratha ceremony of Lord Jagannatha. Realizing that he would be delayed, he prayed from his heart to Jagganatha to not let the chariot move till he reached the spot.

Despite all the efforts of all devotees and Brahmins, the chariot would not move. It was when Salabega reached the spot and saluted his beloved Jaggantha that the chariot began to move. As long as he was alive, Salabega was never allowed to enter the temple. He always remained the outsider but is remembered today for his wonderful poetry in the Oriya language and his devotion to Lord Jagannatha Krishna and Shrimati Radharani, Mata Subhadra and Lord Balbhadra.

May Lord Jagannatha, the beloved of Salabega, bless us with devotion for the feet of Shri Narayana, who permeates all existence!

Karna and Duryodhana's wife - a tale of great friendship

We know of the exemplary friendships between Krishna and Sudama and between Krishna and Arjuna. However, there is one friendship that is not as well known - that between the arch villain of the Mahabharata Duryodhan and Karna, the son of a charioteer. 

Karna was playing and game of dice with his friend Duryodhana's wife Bhanumati in her chamber. Bhanumati saw Duryodhana enter the chamber and got up to receive him. Karna who had his back to the door thought that Bhanumati wanted to leave the game because she was leaving. In a second of thoughtlessness he extended his hand to stop her and inadvertently broke her necklace of pearls.

Duryodhana's wife was shocked and Karna felt embarrassed because the situation could easily be misunderstood. Duryodhana, however, merely smiled and asked if Bhanumati wanted him to just pick the pearls from the ground or she wanted him to string it for him as well.

So complete was Duryodhan's faith in his wife and his friend. It should not surprise us that mighty Karna ultimately embraced death fighting for his dear friend Duryodhana. What is a leader without faith in the closest members of his team?

Our shastras teach us that good ideas should be embraced wherever they come from. Such is the glory of the Mahabharata that even the villains have something to teach.

The darshans are free and open to everyone.
