When Lord Krishna turned a gooseberry into gold

Sri  Adi Shankara
The Sri Krishna temple at Kalady, Kerala was established by Adi Shankara.  The temple is near the site where Bhagvan Adi Shankara prayed to Goddess Lakshmi and Sri Krishna for an old Brahmin lady home who had nothing to offer the young Shankara and therefore offered a ber (gooseberry) as biksha. Touched by her devotion and her condition, Adi Shankara recited the Kanakadharasthavam Sthothram 19 times and the gooseberry turned into gold.

May Sri Krishna of Kalady who is the lord of Maa Lakshmi shower abundance on all his devotees
