Sri Krishna comes here for kheer every day

The Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna temple in Kerala is known for its delicious payasam or kheer. Tradition has it that Lord Sri Krishna of Guruvayoor visits the temple every day to savour the delicacy.

An ancient king who lost a bet with Lord Krishna is said to have built the ancient temple. The king who was indebted to Lord Krishna was asked by the lord to repay the debt by serving his devotees kheer for free every day until the debt was paid off.

May Lord Sri Krishna of Ambalappuzha, the darling of Yashoda’s eyes, bless us all!
