The Pradosham vrat is a fast which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. It is observed on the 13th day of each lunar fortnight. The dates for Pradosham vrat according to the Hindu calendar in India is on the 11th of December and 25th of December.

The vrat or upvaas begins at sunrise and ends at sunset after offering evening prayers in a temple or at home.
