The significance of Paush Mahina
The month of Poush also known as Paush Mahina in the
northern parts of India starts after the Margashrisha Mahina. The Paush Mahina
for the year 2012-13 starts from 29th December ’12 and ends on the
27th of January 2013.
The Paush Navaratri or Shakambari Navaratri is one of the
most important festivals in the month of Paush in North India.
It is celebrated
in states like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand,
Uttarakhand, Orissa, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
