The right to priesthood of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand rests with Veershaivas of Karnataka.
The present Raval or priest of Kedarnath Shiva is Sri Vageesh Lingraja of Bhanuvalli village in Davanagere district of Karnataka.
Prayers have been made to Lord Kedaranatha in Kannada for thousands of years.
