How the Shakti Peethas came into existence

Sati, the wife of Lord Shiva jumped into the yagya fire after her husband was insulted by her father Daksha. Shiva was so angry and grief strucken that he carried her body in his arms and danced his fearsome tandava dance.

Every spot where a body part of Mata Sati fell became a Shakti Peetha - a place where the Mother Goddess is worshipped with rituals as old as time.

Lord Rama prayashit sthali in Pakistan

It is believed that Lord Rama meditated at the Hinglaj Mata Shakti Peeth in present day Balochistan, Pakistan, to atone for his sin of Brahmhatya - the killing of Ravana, a Brahmin and a worshipper of Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga.
Hinglaj Mata Mandir is one of the great Shakti Peethas recognised by our shastras dedicated to Devi Maa. Hinglaaj Mata is revered by people of all faiths in Pakistan and the annual event is described as Nani Ka Haj by the local Muslims.
May Mata Hinglaj, the refuge of Lord Ram, shower us with her mercy.
