Jai Mata Pavagadh Kalika!

The ancient Pavagadh temple was built in the 10th century but Kalika Mata who is the main deity of the temple along with Bhauchar Mata. The Devis have been worshiped by the Vanvasi Bhils and Kolis in the area for centuries before the temple was built.

Maharishi Vishwamitra is said to have formally installed the idols of Mata Kalika at the temple. The Mother is said to be in residence at the temple which is renowned for blessing devotees with the shakti required for fulfilling the four purusharthas - dharma, artha, kama and moksha.

Pavagadh is a Shakti Peethas, where Mata Sati's toe is said to have fallen when Lord Bholenath danced his tandava in anger after Mata Sati gave up her life after Lord Shiva was insulted by her father.

May the merciful mothers Mata Kalika and Mata Bahauchar of Pavagadh bless us all with intelligence, discrimination and love for all beings!

Hail Lord Mukteshwar Shiva of Juhu granter of mukti!

The Shiva Mukteshwar Mandir or Devalaya opposite the famous Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple in Juhu, Mumbai, is at least 400 years old by the most conservative estimates. Mukteshwar Mahadev is the form of Lord Shiva who grants liberation from the cycle of Life and Death.

Mukteshwar Shiva also has his own pond which was used by pilgrims to have a bath before they entered the temple which also has a seven-storeyed structure that houses the Ashta Vinayaka, Ram Parivar and also Lord Vitthal and Mother Rukmini!

May Lord Shiva Mukteshwar the one who offers mukti from all material, social and emotional suffering bless us with compassionate eyes! Har Har Mahadev! Jai Mata Di!

Miracle of Mata Shakambhari in Mumbai

The upmarket Prabhadevi area in central Mumbai is the powerful shakti sthaan dedicated to Goddess Shakambhari, the Goddess who rules over vegetation and is therefore also the Goddess of food without whom existence is not possible. The original temple was built by the Yadava king Bimba Raja of Gujarat who ruled over Mumbai then. Due to the idol-breaking ways of the Mughals the idol was hidden by devotees in a well.

In the 18th century, Devi Prabhadevi appeared in the dream of a rich man from the Pathare Prabhu caste and asked to be removed from the well. The idol was retrieved and installed with due ceremony and has been worshiped by Hindus of all communities since then. The house where Mata Shakambari is worshiped is blessed with abundance of health, happiness, peace and wealth! May Mata Shakambhari bless us all!

Jai Mata Shakambhari Prabhavati ki! Jai Mata Di!

Mahadev Kuber Bhandari Shiv Shanker the, giver of wealth and children

Lord Kuberbhandari Temple is located in Karnali village in the Chanod town of Vadodara district of Gujarat!

The story goes that Mata Parvari was walking along the Narmada river with Lord Shiva when she felt thirsty and hungry and asked the lord that she be fed. Shiva understood Mata Rani's leela. Lord Shiva and Devi's devotees came to pay their respects to the Mata Narmada and they had nothing to drink or eat. Moved by the plight of his devotees, Lord Shiva assumed the form of kubereshwar or Kuber Bhandari or Lord of Kuber the treasurer of the gods to ensure that his devotees would always be fed and served clean water when they visited the spot. The merciful Lord himself became food and water so his devotees would not have to go hungry or thirsty.True to his promise all devotees are fed for free at the temple.

Lord Kuber Bhandari is honoured for his power to grant wealth, abundance, happiness and children to his devotees. The largest number of devotees gather on Somvati Amavasya and on every new moon night when big celebrations are held at the temple.

Shri Radhe Maa- When Lord Rama Visited Mumbai

Lord Rama reached the group of islands that are presently known to all as Mumbai as he pursued Ravana after he abducted Mata Sita. Here, as he waited for Lakshmana to arrange a Shiva Lingam so he could worship the Lord, Lord Rama upset with the delay created a created a Shiva Linga with Valuka or sand. The spot where Rama's Lord or Ishawar was worshiped in the form of a Linga designed from Valuka became famous as Valukeshwar and is today known to all as the upmarket Walkeshwar neighbourhood in Mumbai.

May Lord Shiva as Lord Walkeshwar bless us with abundance, compassion and devotion. Har Har Mahadev! Jai Mata Di!

Jai Ho Albela Hanuman Maharaj ki!

albela hanuman mandir

Albela Hanuman has been worshiped in Wadala, a suburb for the last 150 years since he manifested himself in a swayambhu form. The king who discovered the swayambhu idol decided to move the idol to a better location.

The idol could not be moved an inch and the statue stayed where it was. The king accepted the miracle as God;s wish and built a temple for the idol at the spot. As Lord Hanuman expressed his stubborn side in his leela, he came to be known as Albela Hanumān. The idol has a broad base that is adorned with images of other devatās like Lord Ganapati. The idol is completely covered with sindur. The Lord’s mouth is black and he sports a mustache.

May Lord Albela Hanuman of Vadala Mumbai bless us with unshakable firmness in the face of life's challenges. Ram das Hanuman ji ki jai!

Jai Ho Swayambhu Siddhivinayak ki!

The Vazira Naka area of Borivali, Mumbai, is today flat land but was once hilly and rocky. A worker who used to work at a stone quarry in the area had a dream as he napped after his lunch. Lord Ganesha asked him to not blast the rock they were planning to break the following day as he would manifest himself on the rock.

The excited worker shared the experience with others at the site and they decided to stop work on the day. On the second day, the Lord manifested his form clearly on the face of the rock. Over the years, a temple came up on the site and is visited by hundreds of people across Mumbai who have known that the Swayambhu Ganesha has powers to grant their wishes.

May Lord Siddhivinayak of Vazira Naka, Borivali, Mumbai grant all our wishes!
