Shri Radhe Maa - When Krishna became his own devotee

Narsi Mehta (1409-1488), the great Vaishnava saint, and Adi Kavi of the Gujarati language, is the poet of the song ‘Vaishnava Jana To Ene Kahiye’ which was a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi.

Once, Narsi Mehta set out to get ghee for his father's Sraddha but joined a sankirtan party of devotees and forgot everything about it. His worried wife was waiting when Shri Krishna came with the ghee in Narsi’s form and attended to the needs of the Brahmins who were fed. It was after all the guests had departed that Narsi came with the ghee, and learnt of Lord Krishna’s leela.
