How do Hindus in Bali, Indonesia, chant the Gayatri mantra?

The Hindus of Bali are descendants of the nobles of the great Majapahit Hindu empire that once ruled Indonesia. While modern Indonesia is Muslim, the Balinese continue to be staunchly Hindu. Their rituals, modes of worship share great similarity with practices of Indian Hinduism.

The honour the Ramayana and Mahabharata and also acknowledge the superiority of the Vedas. Here is a video clip of a Balinese Hindu Brahmin chanting the Gayatri Mantra differently from the way it is pronounced by the Hindus in India.
