The Pathan who translated the Bhagvad Puran into Persian

Poet and devotee of Krishna Syed Ibrahim 'Ras Khan' translated the Shrimad Bhagvad Puran into Persian, the language of the Iranians and the language of the educated elite during the Muslim rule in India. Ras Khan says in a poem that if God grants him another birth he would like to be reborn as a bird on the kadamba trees that grow on the banks of the Jamuna where Lord Krishna enacted his raas-leela.
