The
ancestors of Maratha citizens of Mauritius left Indian shores over one
and a half century ago but continue to honor their love for Hinduism,
Shivaji Maharaj and Maharashtra. There are several Bhavani temples in
Mauritius.
Not
surprisingly, the Mauritian Hindus have not forgotten the beautiful
abhangas of the Warkari Sampradaya of Maharashtra that is devoted to
Lord Vitthala Krishna of Pandharpur.
