Why does every home courtyard in Bali, Indonesia, have a Ganesha Idol?

Ganpati

Bali has perhaps the largest concentration of Hindus in any country other than Nepal outside India. Balinese Hinduism is unique in that there pujas retain some features of Indian pujas but are also unique. Indian Hindus and Balinese Hindus often join in worshiping Lord Ganesha with Sanskrit Mantras.

Traditional Balinese Courtyards have a Ganesh idol at the entrance like several Indian homes and courtyards. The Lord is present at the threshold as a protector. Om Gam Ganapataye Namah!

Watch a video of a Balinese Brahmin explain the significance of Lord Ganapati in Balinese Hinduism and culture on this linkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0ie-yURI3o
