The
Pradosham Vrat
The
Pradosham vrat is a fast which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. It
is observed on the 13th day of each lunar fortnight. The dates for
Pradosham vrat according to the Hindu calendar in India is on the 11th
of December and 25th of December.
The
vrat or upvaas begins at sunrise and ends at sunset after offering evening prayers
in a temple or at home.
A popular Hindu myth narrates that Maa Paravati
and Lord Shiva are happy during Pradosham, and they fulfill the desires of all
who fast in this period.
