The Pradosham Vrat

The Pradosham vrat is a fast which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. It is observed on the 13^th day of each lunar fortnight. The dates for Pradosham vrat according to the Hindu calendar in India is on the 11^th of December and 25^th of December.

The vrat or upvaas begins at sunrise and ends at sunset after offering evening prayers in a temple or at home. 

 A popular Hindu myth narrates that Maa Paravati and Lord Shiva are happy during Pradosham, and they fulfill the desires of all who fast in this period.
