Happy Guru Purab to one and all!

Guru Nanak Gurpurab or Guru Nanak's Prakash Utsav and Guru Nanak Jayanti (Wednesday, November 25, 2015) commemorates the birth of the first sikh guru
Guru Nanak Dev ji. Guru Nanak appeared in this world to preach the message of love, equality and brotherhood to all mankind.

He was born on 15 April 1469 in Rai Bhoi ki Talvandi, which is now known as Nankana Sahib, in Punjab, Pakistan, and left his body on 22nd September 1539 at the age of 70 in Kartarpur, Punjab.

Guru Nanak preached the oneness of God and the oneness of all mankind created by that One God. May all manking take heed to the lessons imparted by the great guru on this sacred day and come together in a spirit of brotherhood to create a sane, peaceful and kind world?

Guru Nanak Devji's teaching have been summarised briefly as Vand Chakko, Kirat Karo, and Naam Japo, which translated mean 1) share what you have with others, 2) make an honest living, and 3) glorify the names of the Lord who is the source and support of all.

May we heed Guru Nanak Devji's advice and become better human beings. Happy Guru Purab, everyone!
