Bolo Bholenath Shri Dhakleshwar Mahadev Ki Jai!

Shivaling

Shree Dhakleshwar Temple was built in the 1885 and was named after Dhakji Dadaji, a businessman, philanthropist and Shiva devotee, who employed his considerable fortune to create the beautiful temple for the Shiva Lingam which is said to be at least over three centuries old. The temple is a short walk from the famous Mahalakshmi temple of Mumbai and is home to idols of Lord Surya, Lord Vishnu and Lord Ganesha in addition to Lord Shiva Dhakleshwar, the presiding deity of the temple.

As the Shiva Linga has been worshipped for over three centuries without break and at one site, it holds particular significance for Shiva devotees in Mumbai who queue before the temple on Shivaratri as well as on other important days dear to lord Shiva. The Lord is is present in the temple along with Mata Parvati.

May Lord Dhakleshwar Bhola Bhandari bless us with peace, love and abundance! Har Har Mahadev! Jai Mata Di!
