Ravana was born near Noida

Ravana - Shiva

A Ravana temple has been constructed in a village Bisrakh Village in Greater Noida. The residents of this village believe the king of asuras was born here.  The temple called Kaushikwar Jyotirling Ravana mandir is quite popular.

The temple that will be dedicated to Lord Kaushikeshwar Shiva will highlight Ravana's deep reverence to Lord Shiva. Few people known that Ravana was a Brahmin. After Lord Rama killed Ravana, several Brahmins in Uttar Pradesh refused to attend the bhoja held to commemorate his Rajyaabhishek or coronation.

May Lord Shiva, Ravana's ishta devata, bless us with devotion for the feet of the One with the Blue-Throat.
