Bet you did not know this about Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Ganesh Temple

Siddhivinayak Ganesh Temple is the most visited non-Swayambhu temple in the world. Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati, is probably the most popular deity among Hindus revered by all denominations of the Sanatan Hindu family.

The old Siddhivinayak temple was consecrated on Thursday, 19th November 1801 with the support of Late Mrs.Deubai Patil, a rich devotee of the Agri Samaj from Matunga who despite being childless prayed to Ganapati to grant the joy of motherhood to women who prayed to him for children.

The Lord answers the prayers of all who seek him with a pure heart and this has resulted in increasing number of devotees visiting the temple every year.

May the selfless example of Shrimati Deubai Patil and her devotion to Lord Siddhivinayak ignite the love for the apple of Parvati's eye in our heart! Om Gam Ganapataye Namah! Jai Mata Di!
